Want to know what’s for lunch?

School Dinners are provided by a company called Aspens.  School dinners are priced at £2 a day / £10 a week, this cost can be paid weekly, termly or yearly. Alternatively School dinners can be paid for using our online payment system – SIMS Agora.

Eligable for Free School Meals

 

FREE SCHOOL MEALS

Free school meals are provided if a parent or guardian receives :

  • Income support,
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided they are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190.00)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal credit

 

Children, who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

 

Please be aware that FSM claims can only be processed over the phone if you have a “live” Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction claim in payment that confirms you are claiming one of the benefits or incomes listed above.

 

If you are an asylum seeker, supported under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, you will need to either apply online, or make an in person application, but please ensure that you can provide documentary evidence to support your claim that includes your Border Agency or NASS reference number.

NB: If we cannot confirm your entitlement to Free School Meals if you apply on-line or when you phone, you will need to make an in person application by visiting one of our Advice Sessions, details of which are available @ http://www.salford.gov.uk/benefits/advice-sessions/.

 

If you qualify for free school meals but your child has a packed lunch or is fed by alternative means your child can benefit financially whilst in school by you still claiming.
