Highlight of The Week: After School Club

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: Outdoor Learning Year: 2017 - 2018

We have an after school "Outdoor Learning" club on a tuesday night at school and for some reason it had just never occured to me to take any photos of them.  I don't know why, I just never did.  But when I was asked to provide some, I decided to give an activity a try which I'd heard about from Richard Hurstwood when he came and did some sessions with us, and that was - give the children a iPad, lock it to the camera and let them go.

Well we did just that and I'm going to put up the photos AS IS, unedited, as I think it brings to life "a story" of sorts that our children have told.  Admittedly I did delete 404 photos off one of the iPads, as the child had literally took 404 photos of the floor BUT have a look and see what you think.  I've also not included EVERY photo as there were literally too many, but I'm hoping to POSSIBLY (don't want to tie myself to a definite) make a video of them all, so you can what they did.

The temptation will be to look at some of these photos and think "thats wrong."  and in one sense, you may be right but in another, I think that's the wrong way to look at this particular activity.  We're not asking these children to be professional photographers;  we're asking them to tell us what do THEY see.

So here it is.
