Remembering 100 years since the end of World War 1 - 9th November 2018

Lesson: History

Class: Butterflies Year: 2018 - 2019

On Friday we had the pleasure of meeting James a solider who has served our country in the more recent wars.

He explained about the history of the poppy to the chidlren and showed us his medals and his great Grandad's medals and flag.

We showed him our work on World War 2 from last year and we all stood in silence as we played the last post for him.

It was a lovely lesson in which we paid our respect to the men and women who gave their lives during the war.

Later in the day we went on to make our own poppy wreath to be hung on our class room door.
